THE BC ANIMAL WELFARE COALITION WEBSITE

This Coalition wants Government to: 1) explain why the SPCA is special and does not fall under the Society Act as all other BC societies do. 2) meet in the near future with this Coalition to hear our vast and varied concerns about this special status. 3) immediately appoint an administrator to take over the SPCA’s books and operations until government has done a thorough investigation of the governance and by-law, financial, Board of Directors and membership issues concerning the members of this coalition.

"Investigate why the B.C. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was assigned the dual status of a public body and a non-profit society in the first place and whether there is a case for clarifying or even changing its status."
